Overview
Visit Clearwater Marine Aquarium to learn about all the rescued and resident animals, fun for the entire family! Enjoy the views of Clearwater Bay from the harbor view deck and stranding deck. Discover a variety of animals including dolphins, pelicans, sea turtles, otters, sharks, and other animals. The presentations and talks throughout the day aim to educate you in a fun way about the work going on to take care of the marine life and the environment.
Hear the story of Winter, the dolphin, who was rescued after having her tail caught in a crab trap line and was brought to Clearwater Marine Aquarium where the animal care staff and volunteers worked around the clock to rehabilitate her. After a long struggle, she lost her tail, but not her spirits. Winter was an energetic dolphin and an inspiration to all. She was fitted for a prosthetic tale and became the star of the major motion picture, Dolphin Tale. Dolphin Tale, a Warner Bros. Alcon Entertainment 3-D major motion picture was based on her life story.
Following time at the aquarium there will be free time to enjoy all afternoon on Clearwater Beach. This white sand beach has a promenade and pier that can be strolled along, take a dip in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico!
